The land is untamed, wild, holding uncertainty around every corner. But it also holds promise, this land called Texas. He stares at his saddle, knowing he must leave. Then he sees her, his beloved.
It has been decided that in the hardscrabble world of 1875 Texas, ranching requires leaving home, searching, rounding up and driving cattle. There are no guarantees. Of anything.
He turns back for one last look and the wait begins.
With time, word reaches her. Stampede! Cowboys lost. She knows in her heart, he is one of those perished. That night, in the glow of a candle, she feels his presence, his touch. He's gone. Departed. Everything but their love is gone.
This year's Halloween styled shoot, Departed, was so much fun to create and put together! I worked hard to create the vintage western look with the wardrobe and am so excited to see it all come together. I couldn't have done it without lots of support from friends and family, two great models, and my husband doing all the heavy lifting and making sure that fog machine was on point.
Venue: LC Ranch, Tolar
Behind the scenes: Brittny!
Props manager and fog machine expert: Hubby!
